PlanEngage uses an automated screening tool with the purpose of preventing the inclusion of inappropriate comments and/or language on the site. This is the "Remove Flagged Words (Automatic)" option on the moderation settings in the Map Feedback Configuration.
Alternatively, projects may choose to have manual moderation where every comment must be approved before publishing onto the map feedback site. If you prefer comments aren't shown on the site, this manual moderation may be selected and no comments approved for publishing.
Details of the three moderation options are outlined below:
- Moderator approval only (manual): You must manually approve all comments before they are published. No automated moderation.
- Flag comments (automatic): Automatic moderation is applied, and comments are flagged if they should be moderated. Comments are published immediately, even if they require your attention.
- Remove flagged words (automatic): Automatic moderation is applied, and comments are flagged if they should be moderated. Any profanity is replaced with asterisks. For example, crap will be displayed as ****, and the comment is automatically published.
